Paul Dickson

Paul Dickson has worked in the Music Industry most of his career in a variety of positions in Finance, IT and Royalties, starting at EMI in the UK before CD's were commercially available. His current position is VP, Projects and Planning at Warner Music Group, where he is increasingly focused on the implementation of a new Royalty Utility. In his 7 years at WMG he has implemented numerous systems supporting Finance and the Labels, including partnering with finance to create a Shared Service Center for all US Divisions based on Oracle Financials. He has also acted as CFO for IT worldwide, responsible for all budgeting planning and financial controls, Data Czar, and Initiator of a strategic sourcing initiative. In addition, Paul has worked on collaberative projects with other Time Warner divisions and represents WMG on an industry initiative to establish and implement standards for digital product identifiers and associated transactions.

Prior to WMG, Paul worked for EMI, both as General Manager of IT for the UK company, and Director responsible for implementation of a major new Royalty System in the US . He also worked for Digital Equipment in the UK for 3 years, and in a number of different industries as a management consultant for a large UK firm in the 1980's, most notably in designing and implementing financial and system needs for large electricity companies undergoing privatization.

Paul has Batchelor and Masters degrees from Oxford University (Philosophy, Politics and Economics), is a fellow of the UK Institute of Management Accountants, and lives in suburban New York with a patient and tolerant wife and four noisy but great children.
