Global Series of Utility Computing Business Conferences Launched [UC Newsdesk 2003/7/8]
UtilityComputing.com today announced the launch of UtilCompWorld, a global series of business conferences examining the On Demand computing strategy and it's true impact upon the bottom line of industry enterprises. With senior executives speaking from a range of industries, including Finance, Pharma, Telecoms, Manufacturing and Healthcare, the 2004 events will take place in New York (March), London (September) and San Francisco (September). Subjects to be covered include case studies of cost-saving in corporate IT, supply chain and infrastructure management, software-as-service and how this model affects corporate CRM, as well as the value-creation opportunities created for sales & marketing executives. Utility Computing has been hailed as a major step forward in the fight to achieve immediate cost-efficiencies. It is a more attractive solution than outsourcing because of its superior flexibility which encourages and empowers growth from within commercial business units by removing much of the investment risk. All the major analyst groups have confirmed the importance of utility computing, with Gartner predicting it to ultimately become the most dominant form of enterprise outsourcing. However, the importance of utility computing strategy extends far beyond that of an outsourcing model and promises both change and opportunity to every function of the modern enterprise. UtilityComputing.com's Senior Strategist, Edward Tsang, commented that "the UtilCompWorld events will give senior business executives opportunity to examine the realities of the claims being made by the major service providers and consultants. In today's tight economy, the only real question to ask is - does utility computing saving me money or generate new revenues? I believe the answer to that is 'yes,' but it's vital executives understand the best way to proceed with utility computing in their own context. There are certainly pitfalls to avoid before they can take full advantage of the opportunity. UtilCompWorld will provide the independent forum for industry executives to network and learn from each other." For more details of the series or to submit a paper, visit www.UtilCompWorld.com or email Edward@UtilComp.com.
