Dear Reader,

One aspect of utility computing considered in this newsletter - the selection of your solution provider - is particularly relevant whilst the utility computing market as immature as it is. Judging from some of the comments our end-user readers have made, it will not surprise any executive to hear that today's crowded utility computing market contains many gilded lillys.

There is a clear need to divide utility computing hype from the genuine business benefit advantages offered by vendors in this space. In light of this, UtilityComputing.com is beginning analysis of the utility computing solutions on offer to enterprises.

Utility computing case studies will of course be explored in our UtilCompWorld conference in New York this March 23-24.

Such a project can be seen as a “one-way cultural ticket” promising savings and simplification, but perhaps as well, permanent change. Before the project starts, the parties should carefully think through the effect on the firm’s culture, and the legal ramifications of the undertaking. Click here for Full Article
